This is a great class where students learn advanced Python programming skills by modding their favorite Minecraft. Students will be introduced to Object Python and will use Codebuilder with Python and the agent and builder models to build cool Minecraft mods.

Python is an ideal language for Minecraft Modding! It is object-oriented so all the familiar Minecraft concepts of blocks, bricks, mobs, player, and agents can be naturally controlled and manipulated using Python syntax. This course builds upon Kodeclik's Python 1 and Python 2 courses to introduce Object Python and how we can use Minecraft's CodeBuilder to build cool Minecraft mods. Further, the CodeBuilder has built-in IntelliSense technology that makes coding a cinch! This is a great way for students to learn advanced Python programming!

Prerequisite: Students will need basic Python programming skills - understanding variables, datatypes, functions and loops, etc. to be able to excel in this course. Course: Kodeclik Python 1 or equivalent.

What age group is this course suitable for?

This course is designed for kids between the ages of 11 and 18, but older or younger children can also enjoy it depending on their learning level.

What do I need to get started with Minecraft Makecode coding?

Your student will need access to Minecraft Education Edition. If you don’t already have an account, you can purchase one through Microsoft. We will guide students on how to set up and/or get an account prior to the first class.

Will my child be able to create their own projects?

Yes, absolutely! Students will create their own custom Minecraft mods, build interactive structures, and design in-game features, all while learning core programming concepts.
